Program Description
[PROGRAM THEME]
An Empowering Journey into Traditional Chinese Medicine
[PROGRAM OVERVIEW]
This program invites high-level professionals from the fields of medicine and public health to China, offering them an immersive opportunity to explore the unique charm of Shanghai—a global metropolis—and delve deeply into the culture, philosophy, and contemporary innovations of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Participants will study China’s current TCM development strategies and policies, experience firsthand the distinctive clinical value of TCM, and engage in academic exchanges with leading domestic TCM clinicians and experts. Through this profound cross-cultural dialogue, the program aims not only to foster integration between medical paradigms but also to contribute fresh momentum to global health initiatives.
[MAIN PROGRAM CONTENTS]
The curriculum integrates expert lectures, hands-on TCM training, and clinical visits. Core topics include foundational TCM theory, seasonal health preservation, meridians and acupoints, acupuncture techniques, medicinal herb cultivation, and refined herbal processing. Specialized sessions will explore TCM applications in treating modern conditions such as psoriasis and kidney disease, highlighting the synergy between TCM and modern medicine. Participants will visit SHUTCM teaching bases, affiliated hospitals, and the TCM International Medical Rehabilitation Center to observe real-world clinical and rehabilitative practices. The program also includes traditional wellness practices—such as Baduanjin, Tai Chi, and Chinese health Qigong—as well as cultural excursions, all designed to deepen overseas medical professionals’ understanding of TCM and support its localized development abroad.
